Are dogs allowed on the pontoon?
Yes! Your dogs are welcome to join you in the lake.
Can I return the pontoon on the same day for a one day rental??
Yes! But when scheduling your booking you will still need to select the following date for your return date in order to reserve within our booking software. The “Check in” date is the date you want to use the pontoon; the “Check Out” date is the following morning when the pontoon is due back by 10am. You are always welcome to return it earlier.
Where can I park for a pontoon rental?
Park near the tree line within our driveway at 130 Lakeview Dr! The docks are only a few feet away from where you can park.

What if I can’t get fuel because the Marina is closed?
Fuel Locations:
- Lake Country Marina is very close to our property just across to the west side of Lake Chetek and is a full-service marina. We highly recommend fueling here for ease and reliability.
- Open 9AM – 4:30PM Monday-Friday and 9AM-12PM on Saturday-Sunday.
- Mel’s Lakeshore Resort is about 15-20 minutes away on the northern end of Pokegama Lake.
- Open daily 11AM-7PM but we’d suggest calling ahead to ensure they have fuel.
- Six Lakes Resort is about 10-15 minutes away on the southwestern end of Pokegama Lake.
- We would suggest calling for hours and availability ahead of time
Refueling Charges: If you are unable to refuel the pontoon (or if returning it same day), I will fill it when I clean and then just deduct the fuel cost and a service fee from the security deposit (as noted in the rental agreement). If you could let me know when you return it whether you were able to refuel or not it helps me so much with planning my cleaning time!
Can I dock the pontoon at the place I’m staying for the night?
Yes! You are welcome to dock overnight if you are lodging at a property anywhere on the Chetek Chain of Lakes. Please do not, however, transport the pontoons to a different location–they must stay on the Chetek Chain of Lakes.
When will the security deposit be held and removed?
This is a temporary pre-authorization, not an immediate cash charge. Typically it is held a few days prior to your reservation date and any unused hold funds will be released within 14 days after vacating. We will process the refund as quickly as we are able to after your reservation ends and typically is done within 3-5 business days.
Why is your house a triangle?
The lot where we built the triangle house was the yard of our house next door, which was our family’s lake house and our first vacation rental property. When we had the lot inspected for building, the buildable space based on the setbacks from the lake and the road drew a triangle in the yard. We decided to build that footprint to create a very unique space and landmark. It definitely gained attention quickly with its modern shape and red, white, and blue design!
Interesting fact: a few years back, the space where the triangle house now is had several large trees nearly as tall as the house. Those trees were damaged and removed after a tornado came through Chetek in 2017.
